awareness: what most training programs do, which is why most training programs fail

The learning goal of having an overview knowledge.

Awareness is often accomplished through linear content such as books, inspiration examples, case studies, even advertising, and can be contained in backdrops. The amount of awareness retained by a participant is often evaluated through writing papers and taking linear tests, and unless reinforced, has a very steep decay rate.

Awareness is a first step towards application of new content, and might be sufficient for new members/employees/ freshmen/ recruits, but in no way is sufficient by itself. Web pages and search engines, for example, support awareness, rather than Actions directly. In a sim deployment, awareness can focus on background material.

Meanwhile, self-awareness can be facilitated by keeping a blog and using a coach.

Compare with mastery level.
