The new models of simulations and serious games are filling that razor edge of opportunity and necessity for people responsible for organizational or community learning. In about an hour, these new sims develop business-critical concepts and drive long lasting behavioral changes in a way that is engaging for the user, reinforced by a deeper understanding of the material, and can meet certification requirements and other external measurements for the sponsor. Multiple sims can be chained together for greater depth and breadth. And their visual and kinesthetic nature make them the perfect choice for global audiences.

Wow, I can't wait for the style guide! It sounds like it might be just the tool needed to overcome some of the obstacles with executing the "learning to do" part of the trifecta. I think most training managers, instructional designers and definitely CEOs don't understand the value of simulations. And, those that do haven't had access to best practices for designing and developing up to this point in a "learning to do" format.
I know that time and cost have been an obstacle as well. As the use of serious games and simulations evolves there will be tools that enable the reduction of development time and cost. Do you see that the availability of these tools will benefit serious games and simulations? Or, will they result in "PowerPoint" for games and sims - bullet points and flying clip art everywhere? What efforts can the industry undertake to emphasize that access to rapid game/sim tools does not automatically result in good solutions . . . no more than access to PPT automatically results in a good presentation? It seems that the availability and ease-of-use of tools, but the lack of skills and knowledge to effectively use them resulted in some really bad eLearning. As learning solutions evolve into games and sims for some solutions, it seems that the cycle may repeat.
Finally, it was great to see you comment about the Acton MBA in Entrepreneurship.
